So a new feature has been added into IMAGINE, Virtual Appearance (and I'm adoring it so far imo). "What CAN you do with VA or what's the point of this thing?" you ask yourself.
Allow me to show you
As you can see, in the over world I'm rocking my fairy aesthetic with the Hanoun/Anoon Avatar, Titania's Flower, and Pixie Feather`, yet my actual equips show me donning the Servant Set and Crystal Wings. And this isn't some crazy magic trick with the power of Adobe Photoshop and screenshots, this is a real thing in game!
Virtual Appearance basically solves the issues of
So if you got a good set, yet you long to appear outwards something like, I dunno, a Joey/Kangaroo Avatar with a Cucumber, Succubus Wings, and a horse head, you can do that. You wanna look like you're wearing nothing but a speedo yet retain all your set bonuses? That deed can be done. Found a cute vanity item? You can equip via VA and keep your stats.
How do you do VA? Well it's simple actually. First your're going to need VA chips, which can be obtained through the Post, Trading in 15 DM cards for one, or buying them with CP (10 CP for 1 chip, 50 CP for 6 chips). Once you got a VA chip, click this button here in your inventory.
Once you click it, you'll be taken to this screen.
You then want to click the big blue button with the yellow text to get to the equip window.
(I forgot to clean my inventory for this ahaha)
Here you equip whatever thing you want appearance wise, and if you have chips (unlike me who came very, very unprepared), you can place equips into your closet.
If you got chips and you click an item (either through the left button under the inventory or double clicking, my memory from last night is super fuzzy) to add it to your closet. There, you can freely equip it as you please.
After you've customized to your heart's content, click the bottom yellow button, and then click the big yellow button at the bottom to equip your glorious va items.
Then once you've done that, feel free to then store your closet items, sell them, or give them back to their owners. No matter what you do with the items you got in your closet, they will remain in your VA inventory until you remove them (which I'm not 100% sure how to do atm).
I'll hopefully update this with a bit more visuals and such once I figure it out, but those who have your VA chips, go crazy! Borrow from your good looking friends, put on that vanity item you really like, go absolutely wild!
Q and A:
Q: Where do I get VA Chips?
A: Three ways. Through the post, trading 15 DM cards to the DM tradeables lady, or using CP (10 cp for 1 chip, 50 cp for 6)
Q: Can I depo/trade/sell items I put in my closet and still keep them in there?
A: Yep, you can VA a friend's equip, trade it back, and still prance with it.
Q: What's with that lady in front of the Armor shop in Babel?
A: She sells Alpha (Vanity/Statless) versions of all sorts of tops for 30 CP. She also sells Fireworks for 500 macca each.
Q: Is there somewhere where I can learn more?
A: Kinda? Here's the IMAGINE online page for it, so feel free to translate to your heart's desire.

Virtual Appearance basically solves the issues of
- "why is this armor so ugly yet it has good stats!?"
- "ugh this equipment is so cute/cool/sexy/hot/whatever, yet I don't like the stats/it's an alpha version"
- "My friend has a really awesome looking set/equip, I wish I could have it's look!"
