Due to sudden change of plans (Yay Doctor's Appointments! </3), the winner is being announced right here, right now!AND THE WINNER IS....*Gasp*A TIE!?We have here folks a tie between norimaki 's Kartikeya and akashanotenshi's Moh Shuvuu! But, this means a change of prizes since I have only one Young Soul Red Set F (and I think some participants have issues with logging in/IP bans/etc). So, between the two of you, you can either have: Kit's Winner Pack A: A Sketch Request and the YS Red F SetKit's Winner Pack B: TWO Sketch Requests, but no in game items. Please Send a forum message to me or on skype at yokitshune so we can discuss the requests/your in game name!
Being the one who created the art thread, I need to clean out some items, and the lack of player-organized events, I deiced "Hey, let's have a bit of a drawing event!". So I went with it and decided to start a small event like this to see how it goes. Prompt: Past and Future. Illustrate a demon at a point in the past and future!Yes, I am aware back in the ye olde Aeria days this prompt was used. But given how EN IMAGINE is now a thing of the past, we have a future of JP IMAGINE in front of us, I found it only fitting.Does this defy the fact of Demons/Angels/Whatever of being unable to age in most lore? Yes, but sometimes you gotta break the rules for fun.Rules:
-Follow the rules of the forum. By that we mean keep it PG. So no Maras (crowd going "booo!" in the distance) -Follow the prompt. -Have fun! Prizes:The winner based on their efforts and creativity will receive a Young Soul (Red) set F (Sorry dudes, maybe trade it off for a male one/sell it?) and a lovely sketch request of your heart's desire from yours truly.Example of my work is down hereEntries due on October 15th, 2014. Winners will be announced on October 18th, 2014!

If you have a tie, you should award both people a prize because they are equally deserving of it. Such is the natural implication of a tie. Announcing a tie but only giving out a prize to one person is unfair. The proper course is to announce only one winner and offer that person the prize. In the event they are unable to accept your prize, you then move down your list of potential winners. That is the proper course of action in this sort of event.
You said [sic] "I think some participants have issues with logging in/IP bans/etc" but that is irrelevant to the issue of who should win an art contest. The choice of winner should be based on relevant criteria such as artistic quality, creativity, or originality, and not on who you think has login issues or IP bans. Even if you suspect some participants of having login issues or IP bans, you must verify that they actually have these problems. Thinking they have this problem is not sufficient and should not influence your decision in the first place as to who wins an art contest. And what evidence do you have to substantiate your claims? A person with an IP ban may not be able to claim their prize, but a person with login issues should still be afforded the opportunity to resolve those issues and claim their prize. Even if one accepts your reasoning for choosing a winner based on their ability to connect to SMT, there is no evidence to support your claim that these unnamed people could not connect to SMT to claim their prize.
There are better player-run events than this, and they do not involve arbitrary decision-making as this one does. Future event participants may want to be careful if they are thinking of participating in events organized by Kit. After all, even if they do make the cut and manage to tie with someone else (because you have difficulties picking winners), they might still not get a prize because you think they have problems connecting to SMT.

As one of the people involved in this event resolution, I both agree and disagree with several points this so concerned stranger shared. However, the above poster's comment seems(at first) the result of a misinterpretation of the situation. This by itself(I guess) cannot be helped, since I myself was involved yet got easily confused by how the event result turned out. Unlike what this so concerned stranger seemed to understand, the iplock/ban issue was more an inconvenience rather than anything else. The first thing I got communicated was the wait to know what the other person involved wanted to do with the prize. Despite what the so concerned stranger affirms, kit had no intention to proceed further before speaking with the involved people, event that took place almost immediately.
I will waste no time in sharing my thoughts about how this event got resolved. I have already spoken about it with kit and I see no reason to do so here as well.
Regarding this so concerned stranger's advice of thinking twice about joining any new event organized by kit. I'm not sure how comfortable other people are with receiving such advice from such shadowy figure. I personally don't like it. I draw for fun, and while this event prize motivated me to draw, I was whimsical enough to do it nonetheless. I'm certain the same applies for others who draw for the same reasons. Weather to join or not regardless of how dubious or clear the event judgement can be, is up to those who wish to participate themselves. I'm not sure if I'll participate again in the future, then again I wasn't sure this time either.
Leaving that behind, I agree that criticism is good for growth, and can help improve any new event. I personally think this one wasn't bad. Considering this is the very first forum event we have, could have gone much, much worse. I had fun drawing for this, regardless of the outcome.
As for the shadowy poster, I'm not sure what to think about its intention. It certainly is not a chivalrous call in defense of the people involved. It is not to give constructive criticism either. The fact that this character mentions other player events is suspicious to say the least. Unless those are clan events(which are always zigzagged on public/closed status) I can only guess this mysterious shadow is simply delusional(or a lame troll), to say the least.

ok to clarify what is happening, KIT and us 2 did decide together what to do with the prize. Basically we stated why we needed the set but was at a stalemate and m,e not liking fights, decided to step down from the prize since we were not getting anywhere at all. That however doesnt mean that I didnt want it as equally much as akashanotenshi because well, i really wanted it lol that is to say i personally do not think the prizes are equal at all for both being named 1st place, but since this is the first event, it is understandable. im happy that there are events at all and i wanna thank KIT for the event that got me back into drawing challenges.
some suggestions for the future: don't have a tie unless there are equal prizes, but probably mostly dont have a tie(i agree with the lone demon buster's first statement) if you wish to have 2 winners and decide to change things at the end, i suggest having a 1st and 2nd place (1st with prizes as stated, 2nd with the additional prize) so that instead of being confusing and fighting over a prize it will be smoother and 2nd place will feel pleasantly surprised instead of ripped off. please assume that everyone who participates is aiming for 1st, so that even if you knew my main was banned, my alt is still very alive and kicking, and that i definitely would have no issue logging in if i were to win
as for reply to lone demon buster, i agree strongly with the first paragraph, mildly with the second. as for the 3rd paragraph, it is only KIT's first event, and I think it was definitely fun to participate in and she has definitly learned a lot form this one and i suspect that the next ones will be that much more awesome.
the 3 of us left the convo with no hard feelings.
