I think most of this is on the en wiki yet but I'll also try to explain it here.
To make a demon crystal you need a gem of the same species and the demon has to be open hearts or linked and a synther that can make them. So for example find a synther willing to kill off your demon and let's say it's an alp which is a nocturne which means it needs a topaz. You also need to make sure that the demon being used isn't locked or rebirthed.
Now a synther can either use that crystal to help you tarot or soul stone your gear that you're not wearing. You can use mirrors(big black and/or yellow or white looking discs) to boost the success rates. You can also use full moons in game to get another boost. There are also items that can only be used as soul stones and tarots that can be used too.
And as always please be sure to tip your synther. ^^
One last thing to note on soul stones and tarots that I forgot to mention earlier is that they tend to add level restrictions to your gears.
Now on to the SI explanation, first you'll need to find someone who can SI your gear. You'll need to trade them what you want them to SI along with some macca for the master dwarf's SI fee(tends to be like 80K macca iirc). You'll also have to tell the SIer what order you want the items to be SIed. SIing requires that each item used is of the same type so it'll have to be all male/female and same armor/weapon type. So for example you could combine a female top armor with another female top armor but not a male and female top armor or say a female top with a female leg armor.
There's also these new items that look like diamond orbs on a stand known as crystal spirits that can also be used in SIing. The same rules about the items needing to be of the same type still apply to them but they can be easier to obtain at times.
There are 3 slots usable but you only need 2 items to SI. The first slot is looks and durability and set bonuses, second slot is basic features and soul stones/tarots, third slot is characteristics. Cash shop gear has higher success rates than in game gear for SIing.
Last couple of important things to note about SIing are that the items need to be tradeable usually to SI them. Any tarots and soul stones on anything not used for the second slot will disappear. If an SI fails you'll have 30 days to find an item to attempt a reSI. Any restrictions on certain gear will be passed over so like a law suit(from the invasions) in the first slot will make the item only usable by law characters.
And as usual add a tip into your SIing fee. ^^
Sorry if this information is a bit much as I tend to over explain things. x.x
