Hello!
I recently started playing IMAGINE and starting going through the first episode.
I know I'm supposed to pick an expertise and work on leveling it up, but i'm not sure if I'm doing it right.
I started raising expertise in Destruction Magic because I want to use spells to attack enemies, but I'm not sure on what else to do or what other things I should expertise in.
Note that I've never had any experience on the EN servers before they were shut down, so I'm pretty much playing blindly right now.
I'm level 19 btw.
Sorry if this sounds vague or something. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for my character.

megaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/ExpertiseWhen you raise Expertises to certain Classes, you gain a Chain Expertise. There are 10 Ranks in a Class. In order to remove ranks (and even out your Expertise bar) you'll need Forgetful Waters (which work as long as you're below level 30 and are easy to make and you would have to be +1 rank about the rank/class you would want to be even in so say for example you want a C5 in Support Magic, you would need a C5.1 for Forgetful Waters or C6 for Lethes). The reason is that there is a total Expertise Cap. 26,000 normally (when you hit Lv 90), and goes up to 42,000 after doing other conditions. Since you're doing Destruction Magic, it might be a good idea to shoot for a Curse of the Wretched Expertise or an Enhancer Expertise. megaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/Enhancementmegaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/Curse_of_the_WretchedAnd here are the Knowledges (passive expertises) needed to get your chains. They're by the same person and require x5 Makanda Stones for Magic Control (you can get from defeating Omoikane in Celu Bronze or the market/other players) and 3 Faded Earring: Garnets which can be acquired by doing the Blue Plasmas in Shibuya which is for Bless (might take a while, they're dark silver in color). megaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/Magic_Controlmegaten.sesshou.com/wiki/index.php/BlessAnd whatever you do, if you want to max out your expertises first it would be best to *not* hit Lv 20 and stay at 19. There is an NPC at the beginner's area at Home III which grants a buff (I think number 2) which helps increase your Expertise % gain. There are also consumables which help out as well, which look like red dreidels which come from DESTINY for all I know. The other way of easy Expertise gaining is using Textbooks of learning and other incenses (not sure if CAVE would distribute 2015x ones in the future). I know there was a bundle given away months ago. Oh and some sort of Scattering Pollen equip as well. Here is an old youtube video which gives a video on how the boosts+textbooks work. I don't know the market prices for all the items listed but I bet they're rare like the Etude sword: Here's a simulator I used to make my mage build, and it also calculates the Chain Expertise. rainshi.blogspot.com/p/smt-imagine-expertise-simulator.html

Thank you so much for your help.
I'll probably go raise my expertise in the virtual battle for now.
I really appreciate your help ;w;.

I recommend you to get full Dest Magic and Magic Control, those are the 'basics' of a mage, after that you can check the rest of the expertise to see if you'd like to mix it with something else
You can PM me in game if you'd like to discuss this ^^ VookyBirdy
