Attack: C8 Weapon Knowledge: C9 Survival Techniques: C1
With this build in mind what other expertise would be useful? I know of the Pursuit and Crushing technique expertise and was wondering how useful they are as well as the corresponding chain expertise's, Rampage and Conditions of Melee Combat. Also would adding either rush or spin to this build be helpful?
One last question if I was looking to do damage would a pure melee build or a DD/Shotmage kind of build be better suited for it?

My first idea: attack c6 spin c7 wk c9 st c2 crushing technique c10 demonology c2
A total of 36k expertise that gives: Full Retalation and full Conditions of Melee Combat chain expertises: +154 CRT +13.5 power (strength i suppose?) +6 close range +4.5% LBC but only c6 attack (class 7 armor break is a must imo...)
OR
attack c9 spin c7 wk c9 st c2 crushing technique c8 demonology c1
A total of 36k expertise which gives full Retaliation and c7 Conditions of Melee Combat chain Expertises. The second 1 I recommend you more, might consider reducing spin to c5 and doing crush until c10, but that's still in the future since this requires so much expertise points. (I consider spin melees to be the best; rush is single target, has long incantation and can get easily countered) Any better ideas? Or do you wanna go half enhancer/mage/gunner?
The problem, if you want to go mage/dd/enh/gunner is the stats distribution will be hard, since: An Enhancer needs ~140 INT A melee needs 150+ SRT (i guess?) And a gunner and shotmage need a lot of their respective stats (magic/speed).
DD could go well with melee, since these skills are based on close range and magic (don't know the exact %), though I know some have successfully made hybrids of all classes.

Thanks for your help. I was planning on just going full melee, not looking to enhance or anything as I play with a group. I was mainly wondering about Pursuit, Crushing Technique, Spin and Rush and which would be the better options for damage.I only asked about DD/Shotmage as I was kinda interested in melee/mage hybrid as that is the best hybrid I could probably get, however I think I decided that I will just go full melee instead with stats in to Strength and Luck for the crits.

Before s/v DavisSlasher had a rush melee/c4 DD/enhance hybrid build that worked really well, but I don't actually understand how he pulled it off since we didn't have extra expertise yet? DD is SPL + 0.5* CLS-R, so that's kinda iffy, but the modifiers on DD are so high that it's ok to have a low base magic stat.
Quests, though! Quest bonuses are great for hybrid builds because you get them spread between all stats regardless of your class. You can get 1 base stat and 1 derived stat (e.g. str & clsr, int & support) per 8 quests once you get your quest bonuses high enough, which works out to be pretty huge in the end, especially for a hybrid class.
