Ok, this is quite disappointing. When I saw that title I really thought Sesshou made a gunner guide. Please change that title. It's extremely misleading. Also, much information in here is outdated and misleading. For example, dmg modifiers received a significant boost which, while not mind breaking, made MB shots much stronger. I'm gonna bash this guide(cross marks it). It's just a bunch of info shoved together with little to zero thought put on actual gameplay. Just adding support bullet to the list of suggestions is borderline trolling.
Note: I don't doubt you have good intentions with this, but it was handled horribly and will cause many players to hit "the wall" before even getting into the serious aspect of this game. It might sound elitist, but only a handful of people are qualified to make a gunner guide. That after much effort put into testing nearly every aspect of it. On paper, gunners are full of gimmicky possibilities which will screw any character in actual gameplay. The tarots/ss part is fine though.

Before anything else, I'll say that I did not speak as a moderator but as a player. With that out of the way, I'll address each of your points in order. - If I could understand the Japanese Language I would have given an original guide, but that was meant for players to refresh their memories of the old NA game. There is no need to know Japanese to make an original guide. Expertise and modifiers are up to date in the wiki and so are demon crystals. There is no need to refresh anyone's memories of the NA server. Things have changed and what used to be good back then could be either awful or great now. My main pick with this is that the only type of player that needs a gunner guide, is the player who has zero experience whatsoever with this class. Anyone who made a gunner before will adapt either by thought or brute force to the JP server. - If there are a handful of people who are 'qualified' to make gunner builds then why not encourage them to actually make one because if it weren't for my clan, I'd be clueless as to what to do with a gunner and some of its builds. Gunners are(myself included) the most whimsical type of player on this game. Even back on the NA server, there was only a handful of people who actually knew how the many build/stat/gear combinations work best and worst. If you want a clear example, Azu might very well be the last of this kind among the current playerbase. In the world of gunners, Azu is a mad scientist. Always trying new and crazy stuff. Doesn't mean this is done to help others. All for the lulz and giggles. There is arguably not a single player most qualified to make a guide. Do I want her to make one? Not really. I could make a guide myself. Do I want to make one? Not really. The problem with gunners on this game, is the there is a huge place for personal taste. This is both a pro and a con. There is no such thing as the way to be a gunner. The number of combinations available is just absurd. Whenever someone asks me for advice on a build, I just say "read the wiki, check the expertise, plan something you find interesting, and then ask me". I always find borderline pointless to suggest builds and gear because the nature of the class demands, as you progress, your personal taste in gameplay to form around it. In short, I don't advice others unless they are really lost on how to progress with their character. - I just deleted it overall, feel free to abort this thread if possible, now understanding how this works. Not sure what you mean with this. There was no need to delete this thread. The tarots/ss part was fine. There was some stuff missing but was fine. The rest could be worked around by players' feedback. "I tried this and is not working well" or "my build is x/y/z and I love it". That's how AO/marvelous forum guides started and there was no reason for it to not happen here. - You also know a hell of a lot more than I do for this area. I do yes, after a lot of testing and struggling. I only give advice about things I have first hand experience or things I'm 100% certain that will work from paper. Being a 100% ingame player, I can only test a handful of things. To close I'll say that while I can give general tips for the most basic level, I won't do it due to many people not sharing my PoV on the matter. The moment you decide to make a gunner, you are doomed to screw up, one way or another. Be it expertise, be it curiosity, be it lack of patience or whatever. You'll sit and reevaluate your character over and over again. First out of necessity, then out of fun.

In the world of gunners, Azu is a mad scientist. Always trying new and crazy stuff. oi, i resent that remark xD there's a method to the madness i tell you! All for the lulz and giggles. well, cant really refute that point... that aside, yea. go with a playstyle that suits you, then keep adding on more chains to fit your needs, usually enh/cotw. tbh though, i feel like 'build guides' are really dated, since you'll need to do a little of pretty much everything with all the gimmicks in the dungeons and with bosses.
