Okay for the past year and a half, I've been working on trying to figure out many ways on making an English patch for this game but failed to do so in every step that I took.
For one, people have the general idea that a Japanese lovable game shouldn't be translated period. Just like how some people don't like subs on their anime because it doesn't feel like it goes well with the story line.
Okay so i'll explain it so that when others are going to ask a question, they won't have to.
I'll start with the ImagineUpdate.exe
The ImagineUpdate is the whole reason the game can't be translated (for obvious reasons because it update the files from their server) (THEIR SERVER)
What it does is this, The updater connects to this url ---> dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/hashlist.dat?want=20150822124245
as you can see when you visit that url you'd probably be saying wtf does this have to do with anything? well it has to do with everything
The files that are stored onto your computer are checked every time you open the ImagineUpdater
On that box, you noticed it checks for the files. The files are encoded and also encrypted and digitally signed
Their server directory look as follows
dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/BinaryData
dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/Sound
dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/Effect
dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/Avatar
etc...
I tried to prevent the files being checked, I have changed the CRC, Translated the files and even tried blocking the urls from being access and I've failed in every corner
So when I had translated the ImagineUpdater, it connects to this url ---> dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/ImagineUpdate.exe.compressed?version=20150818122000
Making sure it hasn't been tampered with. But it still always updates to it.
When its updating new server files the url will look like this ---> dl.cave-online.jp/imagine/patch/BinaryData/Shield/StatusData.sbin?version=20150818122000
So UNLESS someone cracks their server and steals all their data then has the money to upload it to a server of their own (VPS or Dedicated server) there is no possible way to translate this game
Lets just say I tried, gave it a good shot but we all are going to have to learn to play the game as is.
Don't contact the developers cause they wont help and unless you were famous in the gaming community (like produced games, created games, etc...) where rich or had connections with the devs from japan. Don't even try.
There this should put everyone at ease now. Hopefully this gets pinned somewhere.
