Update 2/2/15: WOWWOWOW THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR RESPONSES! I highly recommend scrolling down to read what Nagae Iku and @missorder have to say, since their corrections and tidbits are very helpful (and I should def try and work into my guide somehow without seeming so insanely overbearing to the point where it's like "HOW DO PEOPLE EVEN DIAS" and plagiarizing bahaha). Thanks again everyone for your advice, responses, and love! <3
Well a few months back during the diaspora event, I made a guide on how to be a good teammate (If any of you remember), so it figures that I make a guide on how the run works and...stuff.
I’ll be the first one to say that I haven’t been doing this since the EN days, so I missed a LOT of stuff (again thanks so much to the responses from the lovely ladies bellow), but I’ve been able to haggle the ropes pretty well over the last seven or so months (To the Point where I can Solo pillars in Suginami if needed, and lead/Suppress the keys Odin’s Pillar in Shinagawa Nine times out of Ten).
Also bear with me and my annoyingly sugary and sweet pink text/cutes in general. It can't be a thing done by me if it isn't blindingly Pink.
Why Even Do This?
For a lot of reasons really, but what it mostly boils down is to the often sought after drop items, Masakadus. You can exchange Masakadus (You get 3 from Suginami, and 3 from Shinagawa, making for a total of 6 per run) for a wide variety of things. Expert Points, Extra COMP slots, Player Skills (including the wonderful clench passive), and even Plug-Ins if you really, really have A TON of Masakadus. If any of those don’t appeal to you, you can use Masakadus to exchange for Abyss Tower Keys to fight Seth, Jack Frost, Mother Harlot, or Demi-Fiend if you’re feeling REALLY OP and possibly crazy. Lastly, you can sell Masakadus to players, usually for about 1~1.5 million a Masakadus, so it’s a good way to earn a bit of money.
TL;DR, Masas are love, Masas are life
Plus Diaspora is a great time to meet with dudes from other clans and find people you like.
Where Do I go/when are the times!?
As of making this quick guide, there are two (very wonderful) people who host Diaspora: Lagunite and Missy.
Missy's Diaspora is 2 hours after server reset on Tuesdays, where as Lagunite's Diaspora is 1 hour after reset on Saturday (much thanks to Missy herself for this insight!).
Feel free to holla at me below if I got the times wrong because I tend to be a very early bird to these things.
Preparing for Diaspora
Diaspora is a run that heavily debuffs players, so you BET you’re gonna have to have a really, really fabulous demon on hand.
Vinyl Demons are a pretty okay start, but if you have a demon that can LB pretty hard, you’re as good as gold.
As for gear, demon gear is highly recommended. Things like Bridal, Servant I/Butler I, Detective, Division, Arcana II/V, Young Soul are pretty cheap-ish to find (Bridals can go as low as 20~40 million!!). Demon boosting sets will make your diaspora life a billion times easier let me tell you.
Also, HEALS. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING DEMON HEALS (unless you’re a maniac like me and can heal about 700~ish with Jailer’s Encouragement Whip skill)
Quick Guide to Suginami
Suginami is pretty straight-forward. Teams are randomized with whoever you spawn with, depending on your spawn location, you go to a pillar, collect ores dropped by the Incubus/Succubus, Send or Receive one from a Player headed your way (Under TEAM chat someone from said pillar will announce X pillar > Y pillar) and trade each other one of your ores (give one of your ores and they’ll give one of yours), Item Mix the two ore pieces and say that your team is ready. Once the Diaspora Leader says all in, you run to your pillar and shove that ore in there. After everyone has successfully suppressed, a mini boss will spawn and you defeat that. Finally, after all the mid bosses are defeated, it’s Astaroth whipping time. Bring all the buffs and be sure your demon whips him good, and BAM, victory and three shiny Masakadus by where the big Astaroth Boss has spawned.
Also, here's an extremely simple map to follow (sadly this is mostly to help where to go and what not, doesn't really have weaknesses and stuff yet :C )
Quick Guide to Shinagawa
Shinagawa is a little more...complicated. Before the run begins, you are assigned teams based after your demons, skills, and your boss’ weakness (at least I think, please correct me if I’m wrong!). Do not form a party until AFTER the run is started, otherwise you’ll leave the team and be unable to do the run. If you don’t know the player names or have them in your Friend’s List/Clan, ask for your teammates to drop a Tell!
Here's a Map the wonderful missorder has made for Shinagawa Diaspora.
Anywho, there’s a few other tidbits I’d like to throw in
Like with Sugi, do not suppress until you are told to. Unlike in Sugi, there may not be a 30 second time limit, but it’s generally just considered an annoyance (and shows that you can listen properly).
Once all the mini bosses are defeated and the pillars are suppressed, IT’S METATRON TIME.
Also, as seen in Missy’s map, each pillar, once unsuppressed during the Metatron phase, locks a specific action. To unlock this action again, just stick a key in there and you’re good.
!!Another thing of note: During all variants of Diaspora, there’s a thunder and lightning during the Astaroth/Metatron phases. Be sure you have guard assigned to a hot key to prevent yourself from being stunned for a good few seconds!
Being a Good Teammate (Condensed and Abridged edition)
Listen to your Leaders
Be on Time
Be Prepared
If there's an issue, Report it to your Diaspora or Party Leader
Be Kind
Be Willing to Work with Others
Listen on How You Can Improve for Better
And that's the end of the road here. I hope you guys found my simple guide simple, sweet, and will hopefully help with you and your diaspora!
