If you were going to play on the Japanese server, would you have to start over candid or would there be any way of redeeming us server accounts? Kind of sucks if you would have to start over fresh considering the amount of time some people i knew put into the game and the fact that i was pretty high level with my own level 9 clan and items that were from really old events.

No. The servers were shut down along with all chars. If we had the ability to migrate, don't you think we would have done that?

All your old characters, items, and demons are long gone.

As far as I've been told. A japanese player whom I'm friends with, says the code of our characters and what not was different from the japanese server to begin with. She said US servers coding was too messy. Hence why we don't just migrate. I've started over and I've accepted I'll never be as good as I use to or as bad depending how you want to look at it. And I got that nostaglia or whatever you spell it....feel, of being somewhat new to the server. I've had FUN again, whereas in NA - I AFK'd alot. Or since there wasn't a buttload of runs going on I was always helping people with synthing/SIing in babel - if not, I was watching anime. Seriously.

They are gone forever. Everyone has to cut the fragile thread between themselves and their old stuff sometime. No offense and I don't mean to be rude but it's rather incompetent hoping you could keep your old stuff on an entirely new and different server instead of just dealing with the reality of server shutdowns and starting over. As me and my clanmates say, the EN server was nothing but SMT: IMAGINE - Demo Version. That's why I personally never played the EN server that much; I believe spending too much time on branched servers is not worth it. As Saino said, that nostalgia feeling of starting off fresh is always nice. In a couple months I've gotten 5000x farther than I have on the EN server where it took me about a year just to get to level 73.

Oh and for the positive part of what I have to say.. DO NOT LOOK at the game on JP as a whole - you might be overwhelmed by all the things you're capable of achieving here. Take things ONE step at a time, and eventually you'll get as far as some of us. You'll find things you like to do and things you don't like to do. You'll find new demons to enjoy, new content, new gear, you name it.. JPs prices can be overwhelming but it's NOT impossible. You just need to set goals for yourself, find what you're able to do best to make money and such. I also try not to take everything so seriously - try to relax and have fun. Don't overdo things or you may not enjoy the game as much as you'd like to.
