Unless you can get your hands on a paid 3D program like 3DS Max, the most common one to use is Blender as it has a free version (under the GNU's GPL.) so you can at least create, and rig models.

guess I'll throw my hat into the ring, know java and C++ (would have to brush up a little on C++ though), and I'm not exactly an expert, but I understand the basics of how the interwebs work. Could go learn some more I guess since everyone is throwing their coding/art hats around

How lovely, to see the community coming together to make a private server for the game.
I can't program anything, but may we make suggestions on how to balance the game, for example proposing alternative damage formulae?
Thanks.

Would be a cool thing if you could update everyone with the progresses the team makes so we can get a better idea on how is the game going.

We should try to contribute all we can to help Alpha.

As much as updates would be nice, this thread wasn't meant for development news rather a way to find people who are capable of helping in the development. Most likely you will only hear news when it's completed `3`7
except the people who are actually in the programming team

Just figured out that the JP servers were up today, I thought that they all got shut down at the same time. :[ I would love to help, is there anything I can do if I haven't played the game yet? Do you need anything from the first zones/quests or anything? I've done some 3D modelling, but I'd probably have to move over to blender and get used to that since my student version of Maya ran out. Oh and I've been learning Java for awhile, but would like to learn something else too, is there anything specifically that would be a lot of help?

I really wish I could help in any way, but my programming skills are pretty much Zero lol, all I could do is help test things, I'm very knowledgable in how the gameplay works, so I could easily spot things that aren't working properly or anything like that. But yeah if you need help, I'm here.

As much as i want to help in the most heavy thing, i have useless knowledge about the programming languages required here. But, i can help with good ideas about rebalancing/adding new content, mostly because im a fan of the SMT series lore and ive played Imagine for like 6-7 years in total so i know a bit about what can be good changes for the game. Mostly in terms of difficulty, im ok with what CAVE did in the last year to make it more "newbie friendly", but im also a fan of the old "Dante Must Die" difficulty mode, thing that they just keep it for Satan run leaving everything else really easy and boring at some point.
By the way, when i say "new content" i dont mean only new maps, npcs, etc. We can just low modify or rebalance existing content (content that is actually interesting and cool, but trash in terms of diff or loot), in that way it can be more easy for the programming team since they dont gonna need to create something from zero. Let's say Diaspora, a practically useless run now, but with a few minor changes (Bosses HP, enemy demons weaknes/resistances, pillars needed for triggering spawns, loots, etc) it can be the old "hard" raid we all love, just to name one little idea.
So, if you need some simple ideas, sketches for new content, or just another tester... im here. I know is not too much, and basically anyone who have this same experience with the game can do it, but im actually pretty interested in give a hand so at least you guys have one less thing to worry about.

I'm okayish at using inventor for 3D modeling since I'm an engineering student in high school with inventor I can pretty much try to make things like the buildings/items/weapons etc but if you need help with anything else I'm more then willing to help with things such as testing and what not

Welp, here goes nothing.
I'm a programmer with some Java, and .Net knowledge, and some rudimentary C, C++ (nothing that can't be expanded with a couple of visits to stackoverflow) and PL/SQL knowledge. I have some Video-game QA expertise along with limited game design and project management experience if that's any of your interest as well. I also work with XML on a pretty much daily basis so there's that as well, and i've tooled around with some PHP for a web-application project for my masters (i had to use javascript as well, but seeing as i'm not particularly good at it, i'll probably just end up wrecking whatever you have).
Out of all the MMO's out there Imagine still manages to be the one i miss the most, so even though I'm currently working on my thesis on Video-game AI, and have a pretty tight schedule, I'd like to help out if possible.
Shout out if you're interested, I'll try to help out whenever I have some free time.
