That's why VPN's exist Edit: Just wondering, could it be that the bans are from putting random things in the questionnaire in the DCO to get free items (I always leave the text boxes blank too)? I've also been resetting my modem multiple times per day since my internet keeps cutting out. Could the large amount of IP changes also trigger a ban? FYI my safeguard was disabled.

Suddenly I can't login either, it gives me the same error as tsie is getting. I can still log on with my alt account/still have access to secure.cave-online.jp and everything.
What happened? I only spoke english in clan chat.. and only messed up once saying "hi" in say chat in suginami. o.o
I didn't do anything with the questionnaire or reset my net. So that can't be it guys.

Is the possibility of getting hacked out of the question?

I was expecting that it would happen to phazon too and boom it happened And being hacked did cross my mind, but wouldn't we have seen Sesshou log on if that were true. I read this on the official site: (2)For Members the purchase limit of CP per month is 3000CP (30, 000 yen). And I know phazon and myself didn't cross that limit, so it's kinda irrelevant

Is the possibility of getting hacked out of the question? Does anyone know if CAVE was vulnerable to/fixed the Heartbleed vulnerability?

The patcher and login screen are IE based, so they're probably still vulnerable.
I'm doubtful that we're being hacked; the email addresses have remained the same, and as far as I know, none of our characters have been logged.

Yeah, I logged on as alt and talked with several clannies. I'm sure someone would have mentioned seeing me after I specifically said I couldn't log on.
I didn't go a cent over 2000 CP. So that's deff not it.

Well, speaking about CP cap. "(2) 未成年の会員の場合、1ヶ月(毎月1日から末日まで)あたりの購入CPの上限は、3000CP(30, 000円)とします。" Or, if you will use google translate, you`ll get something like For Members (2) minor, the upper limit of the purchase of CP per (the last day from the first day of every month) a month, I will 3000CP (30, 000 yen). www.megatenonline.com/support/rules.html7.2 So in total - if you are adult you can spend as many CP as you want. I checked the rules and dont found any info about CP limit except this one.

secure.cave-online.jp comes up clean for Heartbleed, however that does not mean it wasn't vulnerable before. It's possible that you guys were compromised earlier if this is indeed a result of that sort of thing, unfortunately there's no real way for us to know that unless CAVE decides to release that information.
The bans coming in clusters is curious indeed. I suppose it could just be that whoever handles reports/fraud whatever tends to do things in batches, or perhaps it's a result of some automatic check they're doing for a specific issue (if they're having issues with compromised accounts).
Did anything ever come of the attempts to contact CAVE? It's unlikely for sure, but since a few people mentioned trying or having Japanese friends ask, I'm interested to know if anything ever came of their tickets.

I talked to an English speaking US-based player who's been on JP server in a JP clan for a while, and according to her (some of?) these don't sound like bans?
Them: Did she get an email? Me: No T: She would've gotten an email if it was a ban. [My friend]'s first char got banned for no reason. There was an email about suspicious activity. M: Her pw was supposedly wrong, T: She needs to send a support message M: when she tried to reset it she couldn't b/c her secret question was too. T: Then I can tell you for a fact that it's not a ban. Because when I tried to reset [my friend]'s password, it specifically told me that the account couldn't be accessed. T: And I sent a support message in Japanese and it was answered, I just didn't feel like jumping through hoops for a lv 10 character.

That makes me feel so much better, you are right. If it was a ban they should specify the reason.
